Every day I begin with the greatest gratitude — to fate, to life, to my husband, and to all those whom I call the gods of happiness, for the unforgettable discoveries and the opportunity to live in and enjoy Italy.
Throughout my life, I have met countless people — exceptional personalities, professionals from various fields — who, sometimes as fellow travelers, sometimes as historians, and sometimes as culinary enthusiasts, each in their own way, taught me to love Italy. All these people generously shared with me the traditions and customs of this country, as well as the stories of its small towns, regions, and great cities. In a sense, these people became my guides through Italy’s many “tastings” in different aspects of life.
With the greatest joy, I can say — I know the real Italy. I have come to know it through the senses: tastes, scents, and feelings. I know the true Italy because I’ve had the privilege to travel it from Sicily to the highest peaks of the Dolomites; because I love to explore every little town on foot; because I can live and feel it all deeply, touch it every day… And it has already been 25 wonderful years.
